Dr. Susan Eisen
TICK TOCK Naturals Organic Insect Repellent is a natural chemical-free bug repellent which was formulated after the developer, Dr. Susan Eisen, was bitten by a Lyme tick several years ago and developed acute Lyme disease. It is a highly concentrated, long-lasting formula with cruelty-free, organic ingredients that is produced in environmentally friendly packaging.
After Dr. Eisen was bitten, proper medical care and strong antibiotics cured the infection. However, the experience was unsettling and caused a phobia of walking in the grass for her, her family and by extension everyone she knew. Dr. Eisen believed that standing on the front lawn of your house or office should not put you at risk of a Lyme tick bite. As a health professional with extensive training in biochemistry, she had an understanding of both chemical and natural methods of product development. She decided to develop a product with natural ingredients that smelled good and was also highly effective.
TICK TOCK Naturals Organic Insect Repellent is both. It does not have a strong smell and keeps bugs off of you. Since users report that they like the smell of the product on their skin, compliance for use is usually high.
Tick Tock’s ingredients are grown 100% organically and the essential oils are potent and bioactive (versus the typical commercially-used citronella which though pungent is synthetic fragrance). The grape seed oil, a main ingredient in the formulation, acts as a hydrophilic carrier of the oils allowing the product to retain its aromatic properties. This, plus other concentrated ingredients allow the formula to be long-lasting. Since it lasts up to 5 hours it is therefore a very economical option. Additionally, the product glides over the skin for easy, complete coverage. In addition to clean ingredients, it’s important to note that Tick Tock is non-aerosol, thus a better alternative for the environment. It is also PETA certified as non-animal tested. The brand practices eco-minded and sustainable operations.
