It’s nearly time to permanently retire the snow boots and wellies – so make sure that those (faux leather!) shoes are ready to show off.  Of course, you can use eco-friendly banana peels, or even just coconut oil, but if you need more than just a shine refresher and require more scuff and scratch cover, having color coverage is key.  Finally, there’s a non-toxic, all-natural, and cruelty-free^* pigmented cream shoe polish for your footwear.  Unlike old-school polish, it contains no animal-based products such as tallow (animal fat) or mink oil, and, unlike most widely available polish – no turpentine.  It consists of a short list of just five natural ingredients, including earth pigment which provides color.  Its main ingredient, orange oil, acts as a natural solvent and imparts an uplifting citrus aroma versus the acrid smell reminiscent of a shoe repair shop.  Coconut oil is also a main ingredient due to its long-lasting conditioning properties and high resistance to bacteria versus other oils.  This polish is available in four shades of brown as well as black, navy and burgundy¹.  Since this polish contains no solvents it is temperature sensitive and best stored just below 75 degrees.  With proper use² it will both condition and upgrade the appearance of even man-made materials, which is not always the case with other polishes, that may just coat the surface material and fade.  In fact, the polish is especially useful if you don’t wear leather items since manmade materials may tend to degrade faster and with less “character”.  Though this polish is composed of natural ingredients, it still lasts on par with a toxic shoe polish (well over a year) with normal use.  In an area that has been overlooked by both mass and niche markets, especially for those who don’t buy real leather and want a natural alternative, this is a natural option worth investing in.
