With plant-based eating on the rise, there is no shortage of meat alternatives, but unfortunately those most readily available are highly-processed laboratory concoctions made with soy protein or, worse, protein isolate, and make use of GMO-derived ingredients, a conglomeration of preservatives (for shelf life), additives (for taste) and texture enhancers (for simulating the real thing).  This brand has made a groundbreaking change that should righteously re-define the alternative meat market.  Now, there is a choice that exists that allows you to be cruelty-free without destroying your need to consume pure, unadulterated food.  This meat replacement (and the brand name) was born out of a family’s need and subsequent entrepreneurship to solve the problem.  The founding husband-wife team embarked on creating this nut and bean alternative after their enlightened children decided to no longer eat meat and they were at a loss finding a healthy substitute that was palatable to the whole family.  Using only finely ground nuts (pecans), garbanzo beans, gluten-free oats, and a proprietary spice blend that does NOT include monosodium glutamate (MSG) or MSG-derivatives, a natural mixture was created that actually tastes great too.  The natural ingredients lend a familiar experience in taste and consistency without imparting a strange lingering aftertaste.  In addition, the ingenuity of this product is in its portable packaging; it contains the mixture to prepare the final product with the spoil-prone ingredients removed.  So this means that there are no worries about a very limited shelf-life and you can easily tote it to the next family gathering.

To prepare the “meat”, one just needs 2 teaspoons of water and a binding agent.  The instructions on the packaging indicate using 2 eggs or or an equivalent egg substitute* (great news for vegans!).  The “meat” can be prepared by browning 3.5 minutes each side and formed as either ground (chop-meat style) or in a patty (burger style).  The  seasoned varieties like those with Mexican and Italian seasonings allow for taco fillings or meatballs.  Lastly, it’s entirely gluten-free.  This product will change your thoughts about faux “meat” and get you thinking differently about more “‘meat” instead.
