Green Kids Club is a book series that helps educate children about the environment and how to protect natural resources. Green Kids Club is designed to teach young children the importance of environmental stewardship through picture books.

The series was developed to teach children the importance of protecting habitats, to sustain ecosystems, animal and ultimately human life.  As such, difficult environmental issues such as poaching, habitat, encroachment, etc. are part of the stories.

Sylvia Medina is the President and Creative Director of the Green Kids Club.  She is also the primary author of each of the books in the Green Kids Club series.  As an Environmental Engineer and Scientist, she has spent her career focused on environmental issues and helping to preserve animal welfare.

When Sylvia had twins, she became aware that she truly wanted her children to grow up with an environmental conscience and an understand the basics of environmental stewardship. She realized that there were few television programs for children about environmental and endangered species preservation. She knew she wanted to instill in them the passion of being stewards of our environment. While rocking one of the twins to sleep she came up with the idea of  creating stories and products that teach children about the environment and the world around them. Sylvia’s goal was to help her own children as well as other children around the world learn the environmental habits they could share with others at an early age and Green Kids Club was born.

In addition to books, The Green Kids Club offers related toys, DVDs and jewelry.  Some of the books in the series are also printed in Spanish.

As of 2016, The Green Kids Club book series has won the Dr. Toy’s Best Green Company Award four times and their book, Balto Saves the Arctic, won a Mom’s Choice Award for Children’s Books this year.
